PUBLIC consultation on plans for the world’s largest wind energy project off the East Yorkshire coast will begin next month.

Five events are being hosted in the region by a consortium which aims to build hundreds of turbines on Dogger Bank at two offshore wind farms. Each wind farm would have between 140 and 467 masts. If the proposals go as planned, the first turbines should be installed in 2014.

Barmston village hall will hold the first consultation event on Monday, December 5, followed by sessions at Bridlington Spa on December 6, Brandesburton Parish Hall on December 7 and Cottingham Civic Hall on December 9, all between 2pm and 8pm. The final event will be at Beverley Library on December 10 from 10am to 3pm.

Consultation documents will be available from forewind.co.uk, libraries and council offices from Monday, December 5.
