A TALK about the Pocklington Experiences of a Wartime Evacuee is the title of the next meeting of the Pocklington and District Local History Group.
The talk by Jim and Margaret Ainscough will focus on Michael Ford, a Second World War evacuee to Pocklington from Hull.
He was billeted first at Burnby Hall then with the local blacksmith and his family.
Later in life he recalled in detail his experiences in wartime Pocklington and what it meant to him as an adolescent growing up in wartime.
There is an admission charge of £2 and non-members are also welcome to attend the event at the Old Courthouse in George Street at 7.30pm on Thursday, November 20.
