HUMBERSIDE’S Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Matthew Grove is to launch a £400,000 fund to support the victims of crime.
The cash, which has come from the Ministry of Justice, will be given as grants to voluntary and community groups, businesses and other organisations to help with practical and emotional support to help people cope with the impacts of crime.
The PCC will take over responsibility for these local services from the Ministry in October and the funds will be available on an interim basis until March 2015.
Another £50,000 has been set aside to train and equip volunteers to support victims of antisocial behaviour and nuisance crimes in the community.
