A WOMAN was assaulted in Bridlington High Street at about 10pm on Boxing Day.
Humberside Police said the 55-year-old woman was out with her family when she was approached by a woman she knew, and an argument took place which allegedly involved pushing and shoving.
Soon afterwards, a man who was also known to the victim, allegedly pushed or punched her, causing her to fall and bruise her lower back, hand and arms. She was taken to Scarborough Hospital for treatment.
A 50-year-old man was arrested in connection with the assault and released on bail following interview. Humberside Police have urged anyone who witnessed the assault to phone them on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
