Parking proves a bit of a freeze in Stamford Bridge

THE driver of this van fell foul of a flooded road in East Yorkshire and now faces a long wait before getting back behind the wheel again.

After appearing to ignore the sign saying the road was closed, not only did the vehicle have to be abandoned but the floodwater in Stamford Bridge has now frozen solid and turned the area into a sheet of ice.

This scene was captured in Buttercrambe Road by Richard Doughty, chief photographer of our sister paper, The Northern Echo.
