FOR Christians, Easter is the holiest week of the year. Here in York, the city’s Archbishop, Dr John Sentamu, helps ensure it remains particularly special – not to mention colourful – with his now-traditional outdoor baptisms in front of York Minster.
It is hard to believe that he only introduced them nine years ago, they have become such a part of the city’s calendar.
The weather this weekend may have been a mixture of cloud and sunny spells.
But the baptisms added a splash of colour on a spring day that will have cheered everyone who witnessed them.
