BIG RED has moved into York printing firm Wood Richardson – and is really getting the team thinking big.

A machine, dubbed Big Red, is transforming the way the Haxby Road company can deliver “short run” digital print. The new Xeikon 5000 digital press produces longer, wider, thicker and more consistent printed materials, quickly and cost effectively – saving businesses time and money.

Sales director Alan Coulson said: “Big Red will help us to meet customer demand for high quality, colour-accurate, large format print in low quantities. This is a very clever, flexible machine and combined with our experienced staff and technical expertise, businesses can see their creative ideas come to life, without compromise.”

Big Red can print up to six metres in length and almost half a metre wide – ideal for banners, posters and point of sale materials.

Alan said: “Many businesses are creating more tailored marketing materials and this is where digital print comes into its own. Big Red can also handle direct mail projects with its advanced personalisation capabilities. We’re very excited with our new arrival and think he will be a popular member of the team.”
