Okay I realise that "plant a shrub in 2008" isn't quite the arresting slogan that "plant a tree in '73" was back in, er, 1973, but that's what residents in Fishergate were doing this weekend.

We planted out a new section of the communal green area at the centre of Alma Grove (just off Alma Terrace) on Saturday 4th October. It was one of the schemes voted for by residents as part of Fishergate Neighbourhood Improvements last year.

The next round of schemes to take place next year is currently under consideration. Fishergate residents are welcome to join us at St. George's School on Wednesday 8th October at 7:30pm when discussion of the proposed schemes and voting will be taking place.
