I don't get all the media interest in the Iraq Inquiry. In fact I don't understand why we are having an enquiry at all. It isn't going to turn back the clock, it isn't going to bring back those who lost their lives in the conflict, it hasn't resulted in Tony Blah suddenly changing his mind about the course he steered for the country, so what will the outcome be, a report? Pointless, let's save the money and use it to fill the shortfall in education and in services to the old and infirm.
I was against the war in Iraq like many people but fully supported those in the services who have no choice but to obey, a bit like the rest of us come to think of it! Anyway it has happened and it is now over, so let's put it behind us and look forward to not making any of the mistakes we made, if we are ever forced to do something like that again. Will this Inquiry mean we won't go to war again when most of us think we shouldn't? Sadly, no.
But, today as the Sun shines and the first Snowdrops peep out at the crunchy earth, it is good to be alive in England!
