TRACY Beaker star Dani Harmer could be in not one, but two, ballrooms in December.

If all goes well, she will still be in the 2012 series of BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing as well as appearing in the title role in Cinderella in the first ever Christmas pantomime at the York Barbican.

“It’s a possibility that I might have to miss one night of Cinderella for the final, but I’m not thinking that far ahead,” said Dani.

How might she manage to combine rehearsals for the York pantomime with perfecting routines with dance partner Vincent Simone for Strictly?

“I have no idea!” she said candidly at yesterday’s pantomime launch. “But I’m pretty sure I can cope as I’m a really hard worker. I will put in as much work as I possibly can with the cast here and hopefully at the same time I’ll go as far as I can in Strictly.”

Dani is in the first week of rehearsing routines with Vincent Simone, in preparation for Strictly’s first performances on October 5.

“We’re learning the basics of ballroom and Latin to get a head start, because after that it’s only four days a week to learn a routine,” she said. “My dance partner Vincent is just great, really patient and lovely to dance with.”

Dani first performed at the Barbican in April, playing Dorothy in The Wizard Of Oz.

“All the kids loved the show and it’s a great venue;” she said. “We have something for everyone in Cinderella”

Cinderella will run from December 21 to 30.
