A LONER who sent extreme pornographic images on his mobile phone and was found with indecent images of children on his computer has been jailed for 18 months.

Michael Davison, 46, pleaded guilty to 20 counts of possessing illegal images, which included a charge of distributing two images containing bestiality and ‘harm being caused to a person’.

At a sentencing hearing at York Crown Court on Friday, it was said police raided Davison’s home at Caledonia Street in Scarborough, after his then partner found extreme pornographic images on his phone and took it to a police station in January last year.

A raid by police uncovered more indecent images on computer equipment and a subsequent raid, in December, uncovered the indecent images of children.

Glen Parsons, in mitigation, said Davison’s problems began after the breakdown of his relationship.

He said: “His life took a turn for the worse when he split from his partner. His daughter – his only child – went with his partner.

“He lived in some grim fantasy world when he was alone and isolated.”

Mr Parsons said that despite possessing the images, there was no suggestion of Davison taking his obsession “to the next level”.

Sentencing him to a total of 18 months in prison, Judge Abdul Iqbal, told Davison: “You lived an outwardly respectable life but had been secretly living a second life.”

Davison, a former casino croupier, was also banned indefinitely from working with children.
