NOT yet 23, old Lianne La Havas is enjoying a Top 5 album hit with Is Your Love Big Enough?
The exotic sounding Londoner enjoyed a cosmopolitan childhood, inspired by the heritage of a Greek father and Jamaican mother, both accomplished multi-instrumentalists. While attending sixth form college, La Havas toured as a member of Paloma Faith’s band before signing to the legendary Warner Brothers label. A spot on Later... with Jools Holland resulted in her debut hit Lost And Found.
Although La Havas is the belle du jour, Is Your Love Big Enough will struggle to sustain much interest come September. She looks stunning, and has a pretty voice which mirrors Sade. But her material lacks punch, direction and immediacy.
