COUN Tracey Simpson-Laing should be careful in trying to predict people’s future voting intentions (Letters, August 08) and take note that the residents of York also have good memories when it comes to what York’s ruling Labour council has done.
Rubbish decision-making at a gold medal standard when it comes to bins, closing Beckfield Lane skip and thinking of charging for green waste to name but a few.
Also, in trying to pass the blame on central government for cuts to local services Coun Simpson-Laing and the rest of her party should take note that after 13 years of Labour government all the money was spent and the pantry was empty.
Philip E Sunley, Paddock Way, York.
