AN elderly man was cut from his car after it ended up in a ditch with another vehicle on a rural road in East Yorkshire.
The man was taken to hospital suffering from chest pains. A woman was also taken to hospital after freeing herself from the wreckage.
Humberside Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the two-vehicle smash happened at 5.10pm on Tuesday in Arnold Lane West, in Long Riston, near Beverley.
Meanwhile, a car ended up on its roof after it was involved in a collision with a van in Goole. A fire service spokesman said everyone involved in the smash in Delamere Walk, shortly before 3pm yesterday, managed to free themselves uninjured before emergency services arrived.
