WASTE officials have taken disciplinary action against refuse collectors in York after a bin lorry was involved in an accident on its rounds.
As reported by The Press last month, a group of collectors was suspended on full pay following the accident, and City of York Council has now completed its investigation.
Roger Ranson, the council’s assistant director of highways, fleet and waste, said: “We can confirm the investigation has concluded and appropriate sanctions have been taken against the staff concerned. These are subject to our internal appeals process. Due to confidentiality we will not disclose details of any outcome of individual disciplinary cases.”
The suspensions were on full pay.
