A DRUG dealer has been jailed for more than three years after peddling ecstasy tablets at a North Yorkshire music festival.

Elliott Royce Pickard, 46, from Pontefract, pleaded guilty at Bradford Crown Court to offering to supply a Class A drug.

He was arrested at the Magic Loungeabout Music Festival at Broughton Hall near Skipton on August 1.

Witnesses reported him openly trying to sell ecstasy tablets to fellow festival-goers and police found 247 tablets in his tent.

Some were ecstasy and some were found to be fake. Pickard was sentended to 38 months behind bars.

Det Con Steve Menzies, of North Yorkshire Police, said: “Music festivals like this are understandably very popular, with visitors and bands attending from across the country. “How-ever, people like Elliott Pickard spoil the atmosphere and put people’s lives in danger by selling drugs. He is a scourge to society and is now where he deserves to be.”
