A TEAM of East Yorkshire solicitors is gearing up for a 30-mile walk in Pocklington to raise vital funds for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
To celebrate their 30th anniversary, the animal charity is asking people to take on the challenge on Saturday, September 8, and a brave team of walkers from Williamsons Solicitors in Hull, Driffield and Bridlington has stepped up the mark.
As part of a series of Come Walkies sponsored walks happening across the country, the Chalkland Challenge Walk will start and finish at Pocklington Scout Hut and take participants through the villages of Great Givendale, Bishop Wilton, Thixendale and Millington.
There is also a 16-mile and a three-mile route to choose from.
Jane Longhorn, senior solicitor at Williamsons, said: “ It will be a real challenge but a great chance to get all our staff together and to raise as much as we can to help train more Hearing Dogs.”
Hearing dogs provide deaf people with independence, confidence and companionship, which helps relieve the stress, isolation, loneliness and depression that deafness can bring.
