ORGANISERS behind the York 800 Stories project are appealing for participants to unearth the stories of York’s military community.
From serving members of the forces, to veterans, families and cadets, York 800 want to hear the tales of local servicemen and women, past, present and future.
It is hoped the stories will go on to hit the radio waves and worldwide web, with some stories transformed into a dramatic script to be performed by York youngsters.
Digital Storyteller Barrie Stephenson, who is heading the project, said: “York is a great military city and I’m interested in collecting the stories in your life that involved days ‘in the forces’.
Or it may be that your contact through work, romance or proximity with one of the barracks near York played a significant part in your life.
Whatever your links, you will have stories to tell.”
