HOW things change. During the 1939-1945 war, when ration books were the order of the day, some of the best friends farmers had were politicians, especially those seeking the favour of a leg of pork, a side of ham or bacon, a patty of butter, a dozen eggs, etc.

These days politicians don’t seem to give a damn about farmers.

When are politicians going to pull up their socks and stop greedy supermarkets and milk processors from milking farmers, by offering them a take-it-or-leave-it price for their produce?

Hard-working farmers are supposed to spread muck, not to have it thrown at them.
