MORE than 400 people took advantage of a cut-price swimming offer to celebrate the arrival of the Olympic torch in Hambleton.
All four leisure centres run by Hambleton District Council ran the offer on June 20, the day the flame came to the area, and more than 800 people attended family fun days with water-based activities such as fitness classes, lessons, games and races.
The council’s health and fitness manager, Jonny Morris, said: “The week was a huge success.”
