YOUNGSTERS at a York primary school have helped celebrate the school’s 60th birthday.
At Westfield Primary School in Acomb pupils marked the milestone anniversary with a party which attracted more than 100 people to their recently developed community gardens.
Guests included school governors, representatives from local charities and community gardeners.
The pupils are going to make a commemorative mosaic to be displayed at the school entrance and a huge family picnic is also planned.
Head teacher Tracey Ralph, pictured foreground, said school discos for Key Stage 1 and 2 children would also be held this month.
