A “VAMPIRE-slaying kit” auctioned in North Yorkshire has been bought by the Royal Armouries museum in Leeds.

The box, which dates back to the 19th century and contains a crucifix, wooden stakes, pistols and a mallet, was sold at auction for £7,500. The Royal Armouries plans to put it on display later this year. T he attraction’s curator of firearms, Jonathan Ferguson, said: “These kits are often said to have been made as novelties in the Victorian period and we expect it to attract a lot of interest from our visitors.”
