FIREFIGHTERS were called to a fire at a waste recycling centre where about half a tonne of waste materials went up in flames.
Crews were called to the centre, off Turpin Lane, South Milford, just after 1.30am yesterday, where a fire had started in the ground-floor storage area of a three-storey building.
The fire damaged machinery and there was some smoke damage to the rest of building, a fire service spokesman said.
The cause of fire was believed to be accidental due to “a dropped light”.
