POLICE have appealed for information after two 4x4 vehicles were stolen from the same street in North Yorkshire.
A black Land Rover Defender, which has the registration X5 HYG, was taken between 2pm last Saturday and 5pm on Monday from a house in Stonegate, Whixley, with a silver/grey vehicle of the same make, with the registration YH06 YKC, being stolen from another property on that road between 11pm on Sunday and 8am on Monday.
The second vehicle has been described by North Yorkshire Police as “quite distinctive” as it has black steel wheels with off-road tyres, black front bull bars, a roof bar with spotlights, a snorkel - used for off-road driving and passing through water - on the drivers’ side and a chequered design on the bonnet and sills.
Anybody with information about the thefts, or who saw anything suspicious in the Stonegate area between last Saturday and Monday, should phone Boroughbridge Police on 101, select option two and ask for PC Neil Roworth. They can also contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
