Pupils at Bootham Junior School got into character to mark the official opening of their new school library.
Head teacher, Dr Sue Pattison, said: “Everyone came as a character from their favourite book. We had a good number of Harry Potters, the cast of Cinderella complete with three Ugly Sisters, Professor Underpants, Tintin from Belgium as well as a number of characters from Japanese literature. “All in all it was a wonderful day to celebrate the opening of our new library and the joy of reading.”
The library is the latest in a programme of developments taking place at the junior school in Rawcliffe and at the senior school at Bootham where building work is planned to start this summer, on a multi-million pound arts and music centre.
