THE new season of the York Thursday Darts League will get under way on April 5.

Organisers are looking for new and existing teams to sign up for the league, which is expected to be run with two divisions.

The league format is one game of triples (best of one, 801 down), two games of doubles (best of three, 501 down) and four games of singles (best of three, 501 down).

There are plans to introduce player averages and awards for various achievements over the course of the season, such as highest checkout, most 180s, most 100-plus scores and highest average.

Entry forms, which are available to download on the website www.hitthelipstick.info, can be submitted at the league’s finals night at Crescent WMC on Thursday, March 22. The cost is £40 per team.
