MORE than £1,000 was raised at the funeral of a 31-year-old woman for York Hospital’s Special Care Baby Unit.
Reggie Smart, of Huntington, York, whose daughter, Laura, died last month, said more than 200 mourners attended the service at York Crematorium.
“A total of £1,009 was collected for the unit, and I’d just like to thank everyone for their generosity and support throughout her life,” she said. “Laura was passionate about babies, which was why we decided to hold the collection for the unit.”
Laura, a beautician, was the owner of the former beauty and tanning studio New Bronze Age, in Lord Mayor’s Walk.
