YOUNGSTERS at Clifton with Rawcliffe School are gearing up for York School’s Drama Festival.
They will be among hundreds of youngsters who are set to take part in the festival tomorrow.
The stage is set for 300 young performers to showcase their creative talent at the University of York to a sell-out audience of more than 700 people.
The performers, from ten York primary and secondary schools, have taken the theme “1” as a starting point for their work and have been devising and rehearsing over the past few months.
There will also be performances from Lord Deramore’s, Archbishop of York’s Juniors, Scarcroft, Knavesmire, Huntington, Clifton Green, Park Grove and Clifton with Rawcliffe primaries and York High and Canon Lee secondary schools.
Bev Wright, deputy head teacher at Clifton with Rawcliffe, said: “The large cast we have shows just how much pupils enjoy drama as part of the curriculum. The festival is a great way for us to work towards a project that both extends the pupils educational opportunities and is also exciting and fun.”
