STUDENTS at Stagecoach York are getting ready for the first time to star in their own show at a major city venue.

More than 150 students, aged between six and 18, will take part in ‘A Century of Song and Dance’ at York Barbican tomorrow, with the proceeds going to children’s charities.

Opening the show will be Stagecoach’s dance troupe, before ten different groups cover a decade, each starting in 1910 and progressing up to today. The show will end with a performance by Stagecoach York’s choir and then a finale with all the students.

Principal Sally Thrussell said: “It is so nice to be able to have our own show at one of York’s best venues and have the support to put it on. Our students have performed in many different theatres, but this is the first time we have staged our own show just for students from Stagecoach York.”

The show starts at 6pm. Tickets are available on the door.
