HE was given a new home in York after being found abandoned outside a cat rescue centre.
But now Furby, a three-legged cat, has gone missing after sneaking out of his new owner’s home in Almsford Road, Acomb.
Dawn Raimes said she contacted the Black Cat Rescue Centre, in North Duffield, after reading an appeal in The Press last month for people to give a pet a loving home after it was inundated with 18 animals in only two weeks.
She said she took in Furby and he was settling in well when, unfortunately, a door was left open on Tuesday and he ran out, and a subsequent search of the neighbourhood proved fruitless.
She asked anyone who saw a large ginger and white cat with three legs in the Acomb area to phone her on 07904 023879.
