TWO people have been arrested over the theft of a charity box containing donations for children with cancer.
Thieves broke into the Wavelengths salon in Beaconsfield Street, Acomb, overnight between March 1 and 2 and stole a collection tin for the Little Princess Trust, which creates wigs for children with cancer. They also took hairdressing equipment and products.
A 23-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, both from York, have been arrested and bailed until next month.
The money was being collected to support Jo Dalgleish, 43, and her daughter Lellie, seven, who had their long hair cut off to raise sponsorship and who donated their locks to the charity, as previoulsy reported in The Press.
