A YORK-based company has donated 100 high-visibility vests to children at a city school as part of a safety awareness initiative.
Shepherd Engineering Services (SES) gave the vests to youngsters at Scarcroft Primary School as part of its commitment to community engagement with local schools and as part of its wider Corporate Social Responsibility activities.
SES also teamed up with City of York Council to help deliver a road-safety talk to Year 2 pupils. Anna Cornhill, head teacher at the school, said: “We were delighted to have the opportunity to work closely with a prestigious local company and were keen to provide our youngest pupils with important road-safety messages.
“The vests will be invaluable when taking children on out-of-school visits, ensuring that we are highly visible to motorists when crossing roads. We look forward to exploring additional projects together in the future.”
