DESPITE missing several players, City of York HC ladies first team got their North League division one promotion drive on track with a 5-2 win at Deeside Ramblers.
Within seven minutes the visitors led through a Lauren Boddison penalty flick.
Player of the match Laura Horne broke away and ran half the length of the pitch to slip the ball under the ’keeper for the second.
At the other end ’keeper Dawn Hopkins was in fine form.
In the second half, York extended their lead through Kirsty Rossington, who was put in by Ali Butler.
Deeside replied to hint at a rally but that was nipped in the bud by Zara Gower tipping in a Horne effort.
Though the hosts got a second goal, the last strike came from Loz Pearey to confirm the win.
