TEAMS of volunteers who took to the streets of Selby and local villages during bad weather to help their communities have been praised by the council.
More than 50 snow wardens, backed by Selby District Council’s Community Engagement Forums, helped clear pavements, side-streets, cul-de-sacs and pathways during the snow and ice last month, in a “heartwarming” show of community spirit.
Coun Bill Inness said: “We would like to say thank you to every single volunteer that helped us during the snowy spell throughout the Selby district.”
