SINGERS will be raising the roof of one of York’s most historic buildings to support the city’s hospice.
York Philharmonic Male Voice Choir is preparing for a concert at the Guildhall on Saturday for St Leonard’s Hospice.
he concert, which starts at 7.30pm, will include a wide variety of music by composers including Cole Porter, Sullivan, Elgar and Mozart as well as folk songs and spirituals.
The programme also includes solos by two young instrumentalist – Savannah Brown, top music scholar at Marlborough School, who will play Bruch and Glazunov on the violin and the saxophone, and Tanisha Brown, a viola player in her final year at the Royal College of Music, who will play works by Bloch and Bach.
