A WOMAN has died after her car crashed into a tree in North Yorkshire.
The 44-year-old was driving a blue Peugeot 206 on Bracken Bridge, Hampsthwaite, near Harrogate, shortly before 9.45am yesterday when her car collided with a tree at the side of the road.
The impact caused the car to flip over, police said.
The woman, from the Harrogate area, was pronounced dead at the scene. She has not yet been named.
Police said she was the only occupant in the car and nobody else was injured. The road was closed until 1.30pm.
Traffic Sergeant Trevor Burton, of North Yorkshire Police, appealed to witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have seen the Peugeot prior to the incident to get in contact.
Witnesses or anyone with information should phone police on 101.
