A YORK tattoo studio is staging a charity night in aid of a young boy with a life-threatening illness.

True Colour Tattoo Studio is holding the event to help William Rhodes, three, from Holgate who suffers from a rare form of anaemia and needs monthly blood transfusions.

The night will include music from local band The Supermodels and a raffle, which includes the top prize of two hours tattoo work courtesy of the Clarence Street-based studio.

Taking place in Clarence Street Working Men’s Club on Thursday, March 22, the event will begin at 7pm with live music starting at 9pm.

Chris Hopkins, 35, the laser tattoo removalist at the studio, said: “William’s dad Ben is a good friend of the shop. We are looking to help raise awareness of William’s condition as it is very rare and all the proceeds we make will be going to his charity.”

Advance tickets are available from the studio on 85 Clarence Street and cost £6 or are £7.50 on the door.
