THE family and friends of a missing teenager will hand out leaflets in York city centre on Saturday evening.

It is hoped the leaflets will prompt the memory of anyone who may have seen 19-year-old Jordan Sullivan, who was last seen heading towards the River Ouse, off Acaster Lane over a week ago.

The leafleting group has been organised by the Marks and Spencer colleagues of Nicola Jobling, Jordan’s mother, who have arranged for T-shirts and leaflets to be printed.

A window display of the poster and leaflets is also due to be made up at the store. The group is meeting at the Pavement entrance to Marks and Spencer at 8.30pm and is inviting volunteers to lend support.

Should anyone arrive later than this, a representative for the group will be posted near to the Slug and Lettuce in Low Ousegate throughout the evening.

Ms Jobling said she would like to thank all of her colleagues at Marks and Spencer, including Lucy Hodge and Caroline Byers, and the hundreds of people who have contacted her with kind words.

She said: “I’m just absolutely amazed and overwhelmed that people would do so much for me but for Jordan nothing is too much.”

Jordan was last spotted by a woman walking her dog at about 9.30am on Tuesday, February 14, as he walked near to the river, off Acaster Lane.

His clothes and wallet were later found nearby. Search teams and family members have continued to scour the city following the teenager’s mysterious disappearance, but police scaled back the hunt and underwater searches concluded last week.

Earlier this week, Ms Jobling made an emotional plea for her son to get in touch with his family and begged the public to come forward with any information.

Mr Sullivan, a travel consultant at Quartz Travel in Heworth, is described as white, about 5ft 9in tall with a slim build and short dark hair, and he has a tattoo of a crucifix running between his shoulder blades.

Anyone who can help the investigation should phone North Yorkshire Police on 101 and select option 1.
