THERE has been much speculation that certain parts of the country are yet again in danger of a drought situation, alongside worries about the risks of installing nuclear power stations.
However, I would remind the pessimists that our future source of energy will not be met by installing more wind farms.
To harness the powers of nature for sources of energy, is it not beyond our means to install pipelines through a national grid to parts of the country under threat and/or build more reservoirs which can be utilised for water sports and healthy outdoor public activities, not to forget a haven for wildlife.
Nuclear energy is already in wide use by the medical services and providing power for defence purposes by other nations; sitting on the fence is not an option for generations to come, it will only delay the inevitable.
