Adam Liddell looked to be on the way to the men’s national singles area final against Featherstone’s John Webster at Selby IBC.

But leading 18-10, Liddell was overhauled by Webster, who won 21-19.

This evening Selby IBC host the last of the national area finals for men when York’s David Stroughair’s fours meet Featherstone, starting at 6.30pm.

Tomorrow at noon Harrogate look to wrap up promotion from the Yorkshire Over-55s League second division against York ‘B’ at Thanet Road.

York are back in Yorkshire League action against Scarborough, while the club’s Hebden team meet title favourites Featherstone. Both games are on Saturday.

New Earswick play their final Yorkshire League game before returning to division two anxious to topple Thornaby, while their Hebden team play Selby with both teams vying for the crucial fourth spot to qualify for the end of season Challenge Cup.
