AT THE risk of sounding like a grumpy old woman and taking over from my husband’s letters to the press, I feel I now need to vent my frustration over the actions of fly tippers and litter louts.
Is anyone else sickened by the sight of mattresses (dumped in Dunnington village) carpets and other household goods that are increasingly being left by lazy, selfish individuals who appear to have no respect for there surroundings and countryside. It does not stop there: our verges, hedgerows and motorways are littered with fast food wrappings, plastic bottles and cans.
What is happening to our society and what sort of example is being set to children who may think these actions are ‘normal’?
Janet Rudd, Dunnington, York.
