A NORTH Yorkshire MP has praised National Apprenticeship Week, and announced an increase in take up in the schemes.
Anne McIntosh, MP for Thirsk, Malton and Filey, said: “I am pleased to say that in the last academic year there were 700 apprenticeships delivered in Thirsk, Malton and Filey which was an increase of 42 per cent on 2009/10, and 457,200 were delivered nationally, an increase of 63.5 per cent on 2009/10. I hope we can build on last year’s encouraging figures and I hope young people in Thirsk, Malton and Filey take part in National Apprentice Week.”
