RESIDENTS in villages near Selby have been urged to get involved with First Responder teams.
Responders will be showcasing their skill, tonight, from 6pm, at Monk Fryston Primary School, with demonstrations of resuscitation and audience participation on how to use defibrillators which are positioned in public places such as railway stations.
First Responders are volunteers who are trained to attend an emergency that has been received by the ambulance service, and can be at the scene within minutes.
Local councillor Andy Pound said: “This will give the residents in the area an opportunity to actively join in and learn how to save someone’s life.”
