PLANS for road changes around a new Park&Ride site in York are being opened up for residents and businesses to have their say.

The scheme, part of the Access York project which last year won £15.3 million in Government funding, will comprise a 600-space car park at Poppleton Bar, alongside an upgrade of the A59/A1237 roundabout, traffic signals at the junction of Station Road and North Field Lane, a subway under the outer ring road and bus priority routes in Boroughbridge Road.

The proposals can be seen at york.gov.uk/poppletonbar, and displays will be held at Poppleton Community Library and the council’s St Leonard’s Place offices until March 2.

A staffed exhibition will be held at All Saints Church Hall in Upper Poppleton from 8am to 7pm on Friday.

The plans will also go before an Acomb ward committee meeting at Holy Redeemer Church on Boroughbridge Road on February 15 and a Rural West York ward committee meeting at the Poppleton Centre on Main Street, Upper Poppleton, the following day, both from 6.30pm.

All comments must be received by March 2 by emailing accessyork@york.gov.uk or writing to the council’s transport programme manager Tony Clarke at FREEPOST YO239, York, YO1 7ZZ.
