WHEN all else fails, and when commercial transport services are unable to meet the needs of the community and its many isolated villages and hamlets due to costs, they have to turn their backs on providing such.
Community transport schemes show many that all is not lost.
I have been inspired by the number of voluntary schemes that have appeared and operated successfully in many parts of the region, such as Ryecat Ltd, based in Malton.
All these schemes need funding, however, and volunteers to run them.
Many people have been helped to access essential services that they need.
Your involvement in the service is essential for its survival; after all it's transport run by the community and people helping each other.
Well done to the many volunteers that provide the services that schemes offer.
