POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a moped rider was seriously injured on a North Yorkshire road.
The 46-year-old man suffered ankle and arm injuries when he was forced off the B6164 Knaresborough to Wetherby Road at about 8.25am on Tuesday.
He had just passed the roundabout at the road’s junction with the A658 when he was overtaken by a small silver vehicle carrying three young men, which then cut back across its path to avoid a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.
The moped rider had to veer to avoid a collision and hit the grass verge at the side of the road. He is currently in a stable condition in Harrogate District Hospital but may need surgery.
Anybody who saw the incident should phone PC Stuart Holden on 0845 6060 247.
