A NEW book swap scheme has been launched at Burton Green Primary School in York.

Children are able to bring in any books from home that they have already read and on Wednesday lunchtimes other children can buy them for 10p each.

The first book swap raised £11.10, with almost all the books being sold.

A quarter of the funds raised will be donated to the children’s charity SNAPPY, with the remainder being used by the school to subsidise the cost of educational visits and other opportunities for the pupils.
