THE last-four line-up has been decided for the York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League’s annual Elsie Bell Drawn Pairs competition.

Walnut Tree’s Sandra Bruce teamed up with Cueball ‘A’ player Sue Smith to qualify from the half of the draw taking place at Shepherd Social Club.

They were joined by Sharon Neads, of Flag ‘A’, and Leeman ‘B’s Barbara Russell.

The Tramways section saw Jan Wilberham progress at her home club in tandem with Shepherd ‘A’ player Catherine Higgins.

They will be joined in the semifinals at Tramways on November 1 by Tracey Farmeary, of Cueball ‘B’, and Leeman ‘B’s Shelagh Kenny.

The opening match at Shepherds saw Lions’ Michelle Britton and Shepherd ‘A’s Tracey Scurr beaten in a three-leg thriller by Anne Bass, of Lions, and Cueball’s Faye Hawksby.

Britton hit three tons in the opening leg, but Bass checked out on 52 for a 23-dart leg to level and then closed on 39 to win the match.

They went on to play Neads and Russell, losing the decider to a 53 checkout having won the first leg of the match.

Walnut Tree’s Babs Harrison and Shepherd’s Rosie Hattee were next up for Neads and Russell, who cruised into the last four with a ton in the first leg and a 48 checkout in the second.

Bruce and Smith reached the semi-finals by disposing of Walnut’s Di Moreland and Leeman’s Sharon Rishworth 2-1 and then Lions’ Dawn Exton and Linda Staveley, of Castle Howard Ox, 2-1.

At Tramways, Wilberham and Higgins toppled Ox duo Sue Tait and Sam Stewart 2-0 and then edged past Cueball’s Natalie Farmeary and Shepherd’s Maggie Beddingham 2-1.

Tracey Farmeary checked out on 113 (treble 20, 13, double 20) as she and Kenny beat Lions’ Tina Lane and Ox’s Gill Whitehead 2-0.

They booked their last four spot with a 2-1 win over Tramways’ Pat Nelson and Sarah Higgins, of Shepherd. Farmeary checked out on 101 in the decider.
