WORK has begun to turn a historic tearoom at York Station into a striking new bar.
Elvington-based pub company Pivovar has been granted planning permission to carry out a £250,000 refurbishment of the building at the north end of the station which most recently housed York Model Railway.
Work on the bar, which will be called The York Tap, is now under way. Once completed, the bar will have room for about 130 people inside and 100 outside in an enclosed area.
