A PRINTING company boss who fought off an aggressive breast cancer has praised her York staff for achieving two top international quality standards.

Pascha Turnbull, 42-year-old managing director of Inc Dot Print Solutions, at Clifton Moor, said that while she was enduring chemotherapy followed by surgery, radiotherapy and injections over the past two years, her ten-person team paved the way to achieving certificate ISO 9001 for customer service and ISO 14001 for environmental practice.

Her father, John Turnbull, founded the company in 1980 and Pascha took over from him ten years ago.

She said: “We were both in pieces over my illness, but every one of the staff rallied around and in spite of everything lived up to the standard’s exacting requirements. They were brilliant.”

Now Pascha claims hers is the only York-based print and design company to be presented with both the prestigious awards at the same time.

She said: “It is rare for both certificates to be awarded simultaneously and took several years of intensive assessment and organisation.

“It is testament to the skill and professionalism of all the team at Inc Dot Print Solutions.”

The ISO 14001 demonstrates that Inc Dot has an excellent green policy, consistently working towards even greater environmental responsibility.

All of its standard stocks of in-house products are printed on recycled paper and where possible the firm encourages customers to do the same.

Inc Dot also has stringent recycling policies for all its consumables and resources.

The ISO 9001 recognised the international standards of the firm’s customer service. The way in which staff constantly listened to their customers and developed services accordingly, was cited as a major factor in granting the certificate.

Pascha, who is determined hers will be the best design and print company in York and North Yorkshire, said: “I am now back at work full time thanks to York Hospital, the NHS and the fact that I am still taking the tablets. I’ve got as close to an all-clear as I can get.

“But it was my wonderful staff who held everything together.”
